Wow - this little girl was such a little sweetie! I feel so honored when I get to photograph a newborn - to document their life when they are so new to the world is a privilege!
And I LOVE it when I catch those very fleeting sleepy smiles.
I had the best time with this brand new baby on Saturday. Her mommy won my Brand New Portrait Package at Creative Kidstuff recently. Her new little girl is BEAUTIFUL! Such a perfect little thing. And she had such bright eyes and then slept like a dream for quite a few of the shots.
I got to meet her grandparents too - what a lucky little girl to have such a great family!

I had the best newborn session on Friday! I finally got to meet this little guy. He was only 10 days old here but I know his mom & dad have been waiting on him for what seems like forever! His mom cuts my hair and owns Salon Onyx in Lakeville.
Many times my newborn sessions take a little longer than a regular session because new babies can be very fickle. Not [J] - he was a dream! He slept the entire time and let me pose him and jostle him around with hardly a peep. Just opened an eye now and then but settled right back in to sleeping. Fun!
And I have to say he really is a perfect little guy. I know his mom and dad think so!
He was full of sleepy dream smiles!
Love this one...sigh...
Oh and these were all done with my new 5DMII camera. Lovin' this little piece of equipment! Can't wait to use it on an outdoors session!

I did my new niece's official portraits this week. She was just 8 days old. She's beautiful. And amazing. And so very little and cute and cuddly and sweet. (I know I'm gushing now but I AM her aunt).
I have a ton of other things I need to do before I start editing her photos but I couldn't resist just one. Plus I just had to try out new actions I bought yesterday. Lovin' this black and white!
Finally got to use my vintage scale too!

Had such a fun session yesterday...this little boy is such a sweetheart. I loved playing with him. And he loved my blocks!
And I LOVE this last one...as a mom I know how precious the favorite blankie (or binkie or lovie or whateverie) is to a child. And sometimes as mom's we have a love/hate relationship with our child's favorite thing - it's ratty and dirty and yet oh, so loved. But there comes a time when they out grow them and then you wish for your baby to be little again and needing his blankie.
Thank you [O] family - it was meeting all of you and playing with your son!
I know I'm pretty behind in blogging but by the end of the year I'm a little burnt out and need a vacation. Now I'm back at it and ready for another great year!
And what a great year 2009 was. For my business holiday card this year I decided to use an image from each session I did this past year. What a fun way to relive the year! Here's the card (this was a 5x7 folded card that opened at the top)...
Yep, that's me and my own family on the back of the card. Won't be long and I'll be the shortest on in that family photo!

I got the pleasure of spending some time with this little chunk of love yesterday. Oh my he is cute!! And so very strong already. He's only 5 weeks old and look how he has to look around and see the world.
He was so alert and such a sweet little guy. I love my job! I get the fun of spending time with babies without all the work! He was such an angel for me. Of course I had to leave just as he was getting fussy. ;)
And we can't leave out his big brother - he has a birthday this weekend! Happy 3rd Birthday [L]!! Wish I could have stayed and played trains with you. Next time buddy!
